Update in Visa Fees from 1 July 2026

Australian visa application charges increased from 1 July 2026.

For many applicants, this means lodging a visa application now costs more than it did before the new financial year. Before submitting an application or making payment, applicants should check the current government fee and understand the total cost involved.

These figures are base visa application charges for the main applicant only. Additional applicant charges, second instalments, nomination or sponsorship charges, card surcharges and other costs may also apply depending on the visa subclass and the applicant’s circumstances.

Visa fees are only one part of the cost

Applicants should also remember that the visa application charge is not always the only cost involved.

Depending on the visa, other expenses may include:

• Health examinations

• Police checks

• English language tests

• Skills assessments

• Document translations

• Nomination or sponsorship charges

• Professional fees, where legal assistance is required
